UK law enforcement on Monday returned 2,400 ETH worth approximately $7.8 million to the victim of a 2024 phishing attack, after coordinated blockchain tracing and mutual-legal-assistance work with authorities in a partner jurisdiction resulted in the freezing and forfeiture of the funds at a non-EU exchange.\n\nThe case is the latest example of cross-border blockchain forensics enabling civil-style recoveries that would have been impossible only a few years ago.
